PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a medical error from occurring by taking wrong medicines in a medical institution such as hospital. SOLUTION: In a department to journalize medicines in the medical institution, when forwarding medicines, a document printed with a code showing the type of the relevant medicine (or type and amount of medicines) is issued and respective medicines are forwarded after sticking this document. In a department for dosage, the code added to the document is read by a bar code reader 45 before dosing and collated with the data of medicines to be prescribed to a patient stored in a computer 46 and the result is displayed on a liquid crystal display device 46a. Thus, a doctor or the like confirms this indication so that the erroneous use of medicines can be prevented.
