PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater for a hydrogen storage apparatus capable of reducing the unevenness degree of a temperature distribution. SOLUTION: The heater 2 is contact disposed with a hydrogen storage unit 9 which fills a hydrogen absorbing material HSM. The heater 2 comprises at least one combustion chambers 331, 332 for burning a combustible gas; catalysts 42 each for burning the gas carried to a catalyst carrying unit 38 existing in the chambers 331, 332; at least one combustible gas introducing chamber 34 adjacent to the chambers 331, 332 via chamber walls 29, 30; a plurality of combustible gas inlets 36 dispersively disposed at the walls 29, 30 to communicate with the chambers 331, 332 through the chamber 34; and a burned gas outlet 37 communicating with the chambers 331, 332.
