PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially drawn polypropylene film having high mechanical properties such as tensile strength and rigidity and excellent aluminum metallizability and, accordingly, suitable e.g. for a packaging material. SOLUTION: The biaxially drawn film is composed of a polypropylene resin having an MFR (230 deg.C) of 0.1-20 g/10 min, the maximum peak temperature (Tm) of the endothermic curve of 140-170 deg.C measured by DSC, the ratio of stereo-irregular unit of <=0.2% each caused by the 2,1-insertion or 1,3-insertion of the propylene monomer in the total propylene constitution unit and determined by<13> C-NMR spectrum and an Mw/Mn ratio of 2-4 determined by GPC and containing <=2.0 wt.% component soluble in n-decane at room temperature.
