Reciprocating slickline pump

A downhole pumping system comprises a reciprocating hydraulic slickline pump 10 and a source of fluid. The pump member is reciprocated axially, within a chamber, by a slickline 30 to change the volume of the chamber and the pressure of the fluid therein. The fluid may be hydraulic fluid and may be stored in a source chamber of variable volume. The pump member may be a plunger having a fluid passage therethrough. The fluid from the pump may be used to actuate a downhole tool 300 such as a packer or bridge plug.
