PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operating reliability of a vehicle steering system using a mechanism with a simple construction. SOLUTION: This vehicle steering system can be used in normal operation, in which a steering wheel 5 operated by the driver and steered wheels 2 are linked through a control system with each other, and in emergency operation, in which the steering wheel 5 and the steered wheels 2 are forcibly connected. A steering angle control unit 1 for a steering mechanism 19 that operates the steered wheels 2 comprises the first steering angle control unit. Manual moment control units 33 for a manual moment mechanism 35 that operates the steering wheel 5 in order to simulate the manual moment comprises the first manual moment control unit. The steering angle control unit 1 comprises the second manual moment control unit that is redundantly connected with respect to the first manual moment control unit of the manual moment control unit 33. The manual moment control unit 33 comprises the second steering angle control unit that is redundantly connected with respect to the first steering angle control unit of the steering angle control unit 1. |
