PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a person who is hypermetropic or presbyopic to easily view a character image, such as characters in a finder, without having to require special operations. SOLUTION: An observer is made to observe a character image containing characters displayed by a light-emitting display part 16, together with a subject image or a subject image via an eyepiece optical system 15. The eyepiece optical system 15 is movable by a diopter adjusting mechanism 18 along the optical axis for diopter adjustment.
