A method for detecting infection of crops by Sitotroga cerealella is provided to be useful for an initial diagnosis by identifying the infection by the Sitotroga cerealella using a small amount of rice and reduce cost for controlling the Sitotroga cerealella by spraying an insect pest controller at a proper time. A method for detecting infection of crops by Sitotroga cerealella comprises a step of amplifying a DNA extracted from a small amount of rice using a primer pair of SEQ ID : NOs. 24 and 25 to identify whether a specific single nucleotide band is shown or not through electrophoresis. A composition for detecting infection of crops by Sitotroga cerealella comprises the primer pair consisting of SEQ ID : NOs. 24 and 25. Further, the crops are selected from a group consisting of rice, barley, wheat, uncleaned rice, African millet, corn and bean.
