PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bag sealing method and apparatus, whereby the left and right parts of the mouth are bent by equal length along a bending line set in advance when the mouth of a bag filled with its contents is bent and sealed, and thus the leakage of the contents can be prevented to the greatest possible level. SOLUTION: The bag sealing method includes at least the bag mouth positioning conveyance step 20, in which the upper edges of the left and right parts of the mouth 3b of a bag 3 the bottom 3a of which has been sealed is positioned and the bag is conveyed while the upper edges of the left and right parts of the mouth 3b are positioned, and the sealing step 7 in which the mouth 3b of the bag 3 conveyed in the bag mouth positioning conveyance step 20 is sealed.
