<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display device which enables a steep increase in the cost thereof to be suppressed and also enables the reliability of a polarizing plate to be improved without generating color irregularity caused by the thermal shrinkage of the polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: A polarizing glass containing metal particles each having an anisotropic shape is used for an emission side polarizing element, and a translucent substrate is bonded on the light incidence side of the polarizing glass. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
