PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium, which has a quick ink absorbing speed at recording, a large absorbing capacity, can print an image excellent in water resistance in high resolution and high density at a high speed without developing feathering in the image. SOLUTION: This ink jet recording medium contains dye fixative particles and polysaccharide polymer gels crosslinked with polyvalent metal ions. As the preferable dye fixative particle, a fine inorganic particle or a cationic polymer particle having a quaternary ammonium salt structure is exemplified. As the preferable polysaccharide polymer, a sodium alginate is exemplified. As the preferable polyvalent metal ion, a calcium ion, a barium ion or an aluminum ion is exemplified. |
