摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium-contg. silicon oxide by which propylene oxide is produced in a high yield and selectivity from propylene and hydroperoxide other than ethylbenzene hydroperoxide, a method for producing the catalyst and the method for producing the propylene oxide. SOLUTION: This catalyst fulfills all the conditions (1) to (5). namely, (1) the average pore diameter is >=10 Å. (2) Ninety % or more of the total pore volume has 5-200 Å pore diameter. (3) The specified pore volume is >=0.2 cm3/g. (4) A quaternary ammonium ion represented by a general formula, [NR1R2R3 R4]+, where R1 is 2-36C straight- or branched-chain hydrocarbonic groups, is used as a template, and and the template is removed by a solvent extraction operation to obtain the catalyst. (5) A peak showing a spacing d is not present in X-ray diffraction.
