PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine for a vehicle to which a cover can be mounted without restricting a position of a boss or restricting shapes of built-in components.SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine for a vehicle comprises: a stator; a rotor; a brush which electrifies a field coil; a power module that is molded with a resin material;a field module that is molded with a resin material; a control module including a control circuit; a heat sink which cools modules; a magnetic pole position detection sensor; an inverter assembly part formed from the power module, the field module and the heat sink; a case including the inverter assembly part; and a bottomed rear cover that has an outside air introduction hole and covers the case. On an inner bottom face of the bottomed rear cover, an abutment part is formed that can be abutted with a tip part of a stationary member, and on an inner surface of a sidewall of the bottomed rear cover, an engaging claw is provided. In the stationary member, an engaging claw receiving part is provided to which the engaging claw is locked. When pushing the bottomed rear cover into the case, the bottomed rear cover is mounted to the case by abutting the abutment part to the tip part and elastically engaging the engaging claw to the engaging claw receiving part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
