PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the embrittling degree of the obtd. thin strip, also to improve the mass-productivity, furthermore to refine the crystal grains formed after heat treatment and to reduce magnetostriction therein by specifying the compsn. of an Fe base amorphous alloy composed of Fe, Cu, Au, Mo, Si and B. SOLUTION: The molten metal of an alloy expressed by the general formula of Fe100-x-a-y-zAxMoaSiyBz (atomic%) (A denotes Cu or Au, and 0.3<=x<=3, 2<=a<=7, 14<=y<=17 and 5<=z<=10 are satisfied) is rapidly cooled by a single roll method or the like to obtain an Fe base amorphous alloy thin strip having 3 to 50 μm thickness and >=20 mm width. For this alloy, a part of Mo can be substituted by Ta, W, Cr, Mn, V, Sn, Zn, Ag, In, platinum group metals, Mg, Ca and Sr, a part of Si can be substituted by Ge, Ga, C and P, and <50% of Fe can be substituted by Co or Ni, respectively. This thin strip is subjected to heat treatment to form a part or the whole of the structure into crystal grains having <=50 nm average grain size, by which an Fe base nanocrystal soft magnetic alloy thin strip of low magnetostriction and a magnetic core of low magnetic core loss can be obtd. |
