For electrical stimulation treatment with or without simultaneous ultrasonic transmission, such treatment heads have a metallic applicator to be placed on a body part. It is the aim of the invention to be able to switch the treatment head anodically as well as merely cathodically, as was usual hitherto. According to the invention, the applicator (3) consists of a material such that it is not susceptible to corrosion when a voltage is applied. The criterion used for this is the so-called breakdown voltage, which should be more than 5 V within the scope of the invention. Such a material is preferably a titanium-aluminium-vanadium alloy containing 6% aluminium and 4% vanadium. <IMAGE>
