PURPOSE:To reduce wave resistance and improve thrust performance by means of a stern bulb without enlargement of the vessel body by arranging rubbers on both sides of the stern bulb under the water surface in the stern. CONSTITUTION:A stern bulb 1a is provided in the lower part of the stern under the water surface W, and rudders 3 are disposed in positions in the side of and away from the stern bulb 1a. Owing to the stern bulb 1a, the wave resistance caused by the vessel body at the time of steaming forward can be reduced. Also, as the rubbers 3 are not placed on the stern line but at the sides of the hull, the overall length of the vessel does not need to be lengthened in spite of a fact that the stern bulb is provided.
