<p>A sports implement weighting device is disclosed, comprising first and second substantially rectangular flexible webs juxtaposed with and attached to each other. At least one elongated weight is positioned between the webs. Hook and pile fastening material such as VELCROTM is provided for fastening one side of the resulting web assembly to the other side of the web assembly when the web assembly is bent around onto itself about a longitudinal axis with one side overlying the other side. The web assembly may thus be wrapped around the shaft of a sports implement and fastened to itself to grip the shaft. An optional security strap projects from the web assembly side which overlies the other side, the security strap having VELCROTM for fastening the security strap to itself after wrapping around the web assembly. In an alternative embodiment, one side of the web assembly is permanently fastened to the other side of the web assembly with the web assembly bent around onto itself about a longitudinal axis. The device may then be slid onto and around the shaft of a sports implement.</p> |
