PURPOSE:To make an air bag compact, by successively folding each half section of the air bag on each side of the center line passing through a gas suction port, in opposite directions to form a long and narrow shape, and by successively folding each half section on each side of a line orthogonal to the center line, in opposite directions while the remaining part of the air bag is folded thereover. CONSTITUTION:A half section 1A of an air bag on each side of the center line 5 passing through a gas suction port 3, is successively folded in opposite directions, and therefore, it is folded in plural layers in a predetermined width. Then, each half section 1E on each side of a line 13 orthogonal to the center line 5 is folded by a predetermined width, successively in opposite directions and therefore it is folded in plural layers. Thereafter, the remaining part is folded over the already folded sections. Thereby, a part of the air-bag 1 occupying the area above the gas suction port 3 may be reduced. Accordingly, it is possible to shorten the distance between a gas generator 23 and a cover 27, and therefore to aim at making the air-bag device compact. |
