PURPOSE:To provide improved printed image on a material to be transferred with low surface smoothness by performing pressure transfer of a thermal melting ink to a medium to be transferred using a pressure transfer means consisting of rollers with an elastomer having many recesses and projections on the surface. CONSTITUTION:An ink which is selectively melted by a recording head 11 is transferred to a paper to be transferred 7, held and pressed between a platen 14 and a pressure transfer mechanism 20 together with the paper 7 supplied from a paper feed roller 18. Next an energization thermal transfer film 9 is taken up by a film winding roller 16, and the transferred and image printed paper 7 is fed out by a paper guide roller 19. A pressure transfer mechanism 20 is of such a structure that the surface of a metallic cylindrical roller 21 in the center is covered uniformly with an elastomer 22 and many elastic projections are formed on the surface of the elastomer 22. |
