The safety sensor consists of an actuating part having energy-receiving element, signal-receiving element and signal-transmitting element, and a sensor part having a signal-receiving element, energy-transmission element, a signal amplifier and an electrical signal output. The sensor part outputs signals only when the actuating part is located opposite the receiving element of the sensor part. The signal-receiving element and the energy-receiving element of the actuating part are formed by a joint photoelement. This element drives an oscillator whose inductive oscillator coil is the signal-transmitting element of the actuating part.
