N-phenylthiourea and N-phenylcarbodiimide derivs. of formula (I) are new Z = either (a) -NH-C(=S)-NHR3 or (b) -N=C=NR3; R1 = 5-6C cycloalkenyl if Z = (a) and 5-6C cycloalkyl or 5-6C cycloalkenyl if Z = (b); R2 = 1-4C alkyl, 5-6C cycloalkyl or 5-6C cyclo-alkenyl; R3 = opt. mono- or di- 3-6C cycloalkyl-substd. 1-8C alkyl, 2-8C alkoxy alkyl or 3-10C polycycloalkyl, or opt. mono-, di- or tri- 1-3C alkyl-substd. 3-6C cycloalkyl. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are pesticides which are well tolerated by plants and by warm-blooded creatures and can thus be used to combat pests on plants and animals, and for hygiene (esp. against flies). (I) are effective against both insects (e.g. Lepidoptera, Diptera, Mallophaga, Coleoptera) and against acarids (e.g. mites and ticks) in all stages of development.
