CERAMIC COMPOSITE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a ceramics composite excellent in biocompatibility and having a sufficient mechanical strength and to provide a method for production by which the composite can be produced with a simple method. SOLUTION: This ceramics composite 10a has a double structure in which a mixed layer 103 is located in the interior of a reinforcing layer 105 in the ceramics composite 10a having the mixed layer 103 containing hydroxyapatite and a second ceramics material different from the hydroxyapatite and the reinforcing layer 105 composed of a third ceramics material different from the hydroxyapatite. The reinforcing layer 105 and the mixed layer 103 are preferably arranged in a concentric form. The method for producing the ceramics composite 10a preferably comprises forming the composite 10a by a discharge plasma sintering method.
