The invention relates to a system making it possible to take and transport samples under optimal safety conditions whilst preserving all the characteristics of the samples. It consists of three elements: (1) cold unit, (2) energy case, (3) sampling case. For certain applications, the elements (1) and (2) are amalgamated. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for monitoring and controlling the use of chemical or bacteriological weapons as well as for problems of pollution and industrial accidents. By its multiple sampling means, it may respond reliably to any on-site requirements. It satisfies the most stringent environmental requirements. It may provide a report of the thermal conditions of the transportation. It allows identification and authentic analysis of the samples taken.
