The device is used for limiting the temperature of a laser diode (12), which emits lightwaves, of a space satellite. The temperature limitation is performed with the aid of a heat transfer arrangement (10), by means of which heat is transferred from the laser diode (16, 18) to a heat sink (14). The heat transfer capacity of the heat transfer arrangement (10) is directly correlated with the temperature of the laser diode (16, 18).
