The method proposed in ITU-L371.1 for the individualized-connection determination of the currently allowed transmission rate of ATM cells is inventively realized with the assistance of list parameters, whereby the list parameters indicate the plurality of current intermediately stored transmission rates and their size relationship relative to one another. As a result of this, a more efficient utilization of the computer resources of the ATM communication devices is achieved, as is a greater flexibility in view of the processing sequence of the individual method steps. |
