PURPOSE:To provide a fuel cell reducing the corrosion of a separator material and stabilizing a gas seal between a separator and a unit cell over a long period. CONSTITUTION:An electric insulator 15 changed with the material physical property value or material composition continuously or in steps against a separator material is inserted on the contact boundary face between a unit cell 1 and a separator 5 in a fuel cell. The thermal stress generated on the joint face between the separator material and the electric insulating material 15 is mitigated, no crack or no peeling is generated on the electric insulating material 15, the corrosion of the separator material is reduced, and the gas seal between the separator 5 and the unit cell 1 is stabilized over a long period. |
