TAPE CARTRIDGE AND COMBINATION OF TAPE DRIVE MECHANISM AND TAPE CARTRIDGE

PURPOSE: To accurately align a tape with a tape head of the tape driving mechanism. CONSTITUTION: The tape cartridge has a rigid metallic fitting plate 12 equipped with plural surfaces 51 to 53 machined at the same time in the same plane. Tape reels 200 and 300 and a tape guide 100 are fixed to the fitting plate 12, thus ensuring accurate alignment with each other. A part of at least one surface of the surfaces 51 to 53 is exposed outside the tape cartridge by a recessed part of a tape cartridge cover 14. When the tape cartridge is loaded into the tape driving mechanism, the guide 100 is inserted into the recessed part, and the tape to be wound around the tape reels 200 and 300 can accurately be aligned with the tape head of the tape driving mechanism.
