PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand an air bag while ensuring smooth backward exhaust of inflating gas. SOLUTION: This side air bag device 10 is fittingly fixed to a rear side frame 5 at the side of a seated occupant. An air bag 11 is expanded frontward at the side of the occupant when expanded. The air bag 11 has an inflator enclosed inside to generate inflating gas, and a vent hole 14 opened to the rear face 12 side to fold and store the air bag 11 in a case 25. The case 25 has a vent hole 29 that can exhaust inflating gas, in a position corresponding to the vent hole 14. |
