PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain zinc salicylate, having a substituted amino group, excellent in shelf life, light resistance and stability of colored images and useful for a developer, etc., for a heat-sensitive recording material in high yield by reacting a specific salicylic acid compound with a specified zinc compound. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing zinc salicylate, having a substituted amino group and expressed by formula II [R is a group expressed by the formula, R<1>-X-C(=Y)-NH or R<2>-SO2NH (R<1> and R<2> each is an alkyl or an aryl; X is 0, NH or direct bond; Y is O or S); R<3> is H, a halogen, an alkyl, an aryl or an alkoxy@{9147/28 } is to react a salicylic acid compound, having the substituted amino group and expressed by formula I such as 4- acetylaminosalicylic acid with a zinc compound selected from zinc oxide, zinc carbonate and zinc borate in water. |
