PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display device which is provided with a light transmission plate along the rear of an LCD panel in order to uniformly illuminate this LCD panel from the back and is provided with a function to protect the LCD panel against external force in its back light part. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device is provided with the LCD panel 2 and the light transmission plate 8 movably in a direction perpendicular to the display surface 2a of the LCD panel 2. The transmission plate 8 is energized toward the LCD panel 2 side by an elastic member 13. An elastic member 13 is compressed by the external force F exerted on the LCD panel 2 when the external force is applied on the LCD panel 2, thereby, the LCD panel 2 is moved together with the light transmission plate 8 and the force acting on the LCD panel 2 is relieved. The light transmission plate 8 is pushed back by the elastic member 13 and the LCD panel 2 is reset to its home position as well when the external force F is removed. The light transmission plate 8 is previously provided with rigidity higher than that of the LCD panel 2, thereby, the deflection of the LCD panel 2 is prevented and the failure of the LCD panel 2 is more effectively prevented. The number of parts is reduced by integrally molding the elastic member 13 and the light transmission plate 8. |
