The invention concerns a steam generator wherein water evaporates almost instantaneously for supplying a household electric appliance (1) via a connecting tube (2) and comprising in series a water reservoir (31), a pump (32), a boiler (33) provided with a heating element (331) and its adjusting element, and comprising means for bleeding (34) at atmospheric pressure the boiler and the steam circuit which are activated when steam has been used. The extraction flow passes in counter-current flow through water-treating means (35).
