<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a toner giving an image having high image density and free from fog with satisfactory highlight reproducibility and excellent in stability of the quantity of electric charges in use over a long period of time by incorporating a specified compd. into a toner. CONSTITUTION: This toner contains a compd. having a mol.wt. of >=600 and consisting of an ion (A) as a polymer having ionized element-contg. structures as repeating units and obtd. by a noncyclization polymn. reaction and an ion (B) having polarity reverse to that of the ion A and >=0.25nm<3> volume. Since the mol.wt. of the compd. is >=600, electric charges are easily stabilized and the density of ion pairs in a molecular aggregate of the compd. is made ununiform. A large quantity of electric charges not attained by a conventional electric charge controlling agent such as a quat. ammonium salt is therefore attained. A mol.wt. of >=1,000 is preferable because the quantity of electric charges is further increased and a mol.wt. of >=5,000 is especially preferable because the planning of development is facilitated.</p> |
