<p>PURPOSE: To improve the throughput of the whole of a network by providing a packet boundary discriminating means which is provided at the front stage of a line switching means, monitors an input line for every input line and detects the occurrence timing of a packet boundary. CONSTITUTION: A packet exchange means 1 determines an output line in accordance with the destination address value of a packet. A line switch means 2 connects between plural input lines and plural output lines. A control part 3 controls the connection of the line switch means 2. A packet boundary discriminating part 18 is provided at the front stage of the line switch means 2, performs the monitoring for every input line 4 and detects packet boundary timing. The one output line 5 of the line switch means 2 and the input line 4 of the packet exchange means 1 are connected, the packet exchange means 1 and the control part 3 are connected by a signal path, the connection part 3 and the line switch means 2 are connected by the signal path, and the packet boundary discriminating part 18 and the control part 3 are connected by the signal path.</p> |
