<p>PURPOSE: To effectively use a line and to reduce the cost by providing an ATM cell interface between the time division multiplex line of a line switching machine and an ATM transmission line connected to an ATM switching machine. CONSTITUTION: This interface is the ATM cell interfaces 131, 133 and 142 packaged on the line switching machines 13, 14 in a network system provided with plural line switching machines 13, 14 and a line switching network 17 connected between the line switching machines 13, 14. The interface is provided with an ATM line interface which transmits/receives a signal between the ATM transmission lines, a frame terminating/cell synchronizing circuit which terminates a transmission frame from the ATM line and samples a cell and also, establishes synchronism, and a speed conversion circuit which absorbs difference of transmission speed of the time division multiplex lines of the line switching machines 13, 14. Also, it is provided with a time division switch interface to transmit/receive the ATM cell between the time division multiplex lines of the line switching machines 13, 14, a synchronous circuit which takes the cell synchronism of the ATM cell transmitted from the time division multiplex lines of the line switching machines 13, 14, and a frame generation circuit which generates the transmission frame of the ATM line.</p> |
