PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic sensitive material low in fog and high in sensitivity and image quality and superior in manufacturing stability by using an emulsion containing flat silver halide grains. SOLUTION: This photographic sensitive material has, on a support, at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing (A) the flat silver halide grains occupying >=50% of the projection areas of the total silver halide grains and each having dislocation lines introduced and an aspect ratio of >=6 and a grain diameter of >=0.5μm in terms of a corresponding sphere, and (B) the flat silver halide grains occupying >=50% of the projection areas of the total silver halide grains and each having dislocation lines introduced and an aspect ratio of 2-5 and a grain diameter of <0.5μm in terms of a corresponding sphere. This photographic sensitive material may have a magnetic recording layer on the side of the support opposite to the side of the emulsion layer.
