<p>The stop mechanism allows the door to be held in open and semi-open positions as it pivots about an axis (X-X') slightly inclined relative to the vertical. The stop consists of a first hollow piston (4) which can move inside a cylinder (3) along the axis of the hinge but cannot rotate. The piston supports the weight of the door and forms a compression chamber (7) with the base (31) of the cylinder which contains an incompressible fluid. A second piston (5) has a threaded portion (50) engaging with a threaded hole (40) in the hollow piston (4) and has its axis aligned with that of the hinge. The second piston is fixed to the door and descends as it rotates inside the hollow piston as the door is closed; its base (52) forms a second compression chamber (8) with the base (42) of the hollow piston, also containing an incompressible fluid and linked to the first chamber through a hole (43). <IMAGE></p> |
