<p>A method for making sails or sailcloth with preformed assembly members, wherein panels (2, 3) are laid flat and assembled with preformed assembly members (6) by means of an adhesive or stitches. Each preformed assembly member comprises two adherable portions (16, 17) and one preformed portion (18). The preformed portion is three-dimensionally preformed on a preforming template. The shape of the preformed portions is designed to define the three-dimensional shape of the assembly of the panels and the assembly members, i.e. the shape of the sail or sailcloth. When assembled lying flat, the edges (19, 20) of the panels are straight, as are the adherable portions (16, 17).</p> |
