<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change whether or not a message is to be announced when an improper operation is performed to a user interface by judging whether or not the message concerning the impropriety is to be announced based on an acquired prescribed threshold and information expressing the importance degree of impropriety provided by a reference means. SOLUTION: When setting the setting item required for application software or device driver installed in a host computer through the user interface or changing the setting, a user performs setting operation from a KB 106 or a pointing device. At such a time, a CPU 101 checks whether setting is improper or not. When there is any impropriety, a preset message level is compared with the importance degree of the message to be displayed and corresponding to the compared result, it is determined whether or not the information and/or an alarm message is to be displayed on a CRT 107.</p> |
