FIELD: plastic metal working, namely apparatuses for uncoiling strip in light- and mean-section bending mills. SUBSTANCE: box-type strip uncoiler includes framework with supporting rollers mounted in it, two discs for holding coiled strip and disc motion drive unit. Holding discs have through vertical grooves (upper and lower) along their diameter. Supporting rollers of framework are driven ones. In lower groove of each disc there is roller supported by bearing assemblies and having generatrix protruding from groove inside framework. Holding discs are sustained mutually in parallel, it is provided due to engaging disc trunnions with mechanism for axial adjustment. EFFECT: elimination of defect formation on end edges of strips due to absence of sliding friction of members preventing coil tilting, elimination of turn telescopicity, lowered fluctuations of strip tension between uncoiler and bending mill. 6 dwg
