An incubator which has an incubator cabin (4) made of a flexible material that can be collapsed in longitudinal direction. The life-support incubator elements are located in a main box (2) which is releasably attachable to the incubator cabin (4). A telescopic cradle or mattress support (8 and 9) is arranged in the cabin which can follow the longitudinal sizes of the cabin.
