The network includes several subsystems (1) of which one at least has a communication processor (6). The communication processor is operable independently on application specific parts (11) of the subsystem. A memory (8) allocated to the communication processor stores a message for disruption handling for at least a further subsystem (3). A monitoring entity (9) is provided which determines a disruption and causes the communication processor to transmit the message for the disruption handling. Preferably, the monitoring entity has an adjustable timer which is reset periodically when the network operates without disruptions. When the timer period is exceeded, a disruption of the first subsystem is detected.
