The present invention pertains to devices comprising at least one purification unit, used to purify and/or concentrate a target molecule contained within a test sample. Typically, the target molecule is a test sample will be a nucleic acid. These purified nucleic acids can be used in a variety of ways, including being subjected to nucleotide sequence analysis. Methods of using the devices and kits containing the devices are also provided.
