PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica type filler whose viscosity does not increase even if it is much contained in an epoxy resin and is capable of increasing a mechanical characteristics and humidity resistance of a curing material of the epoxy resin. SOLUTION: 1. Back side protective agent resin composition for manufacturing the flexible base board for TABs has a carboxyl group and includes a cellulosic having a acid value of 30-220 KOHmg/g as an essential constituent. 2. A method for back side protection of the flexible base board for TABs comprises the steps of forming a coating film by coating the back side protective agent resin composition on a predetermined area of the flexible base board for TABs, etching thereafter and then performing a dissolution peeling by an alkaline water solution.
