PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-period preservation method of digital documents on analog media. SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, this long-period document preservation method includes a step for preserving one or more documents in a digital form. The documents are transferred to a virtual folder 14 in the digital form, and the virtual folder 14 is transferred to a remote location. The virtual folder 14 is indexed and converted into an analog form. An analog folder is stored on a long term storage medium such as a film 22. In one embodiment of a computer including the virtual folder 14, periodical sweep is executed, and the document and the folder are transferred automatically to a storage facility 28.
