PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor eliminated of the possibility of primary piping break. SOLUTION: A core 14 dipped in primary cooling water stored in a reactor vessel 12 and a steam generator 16 arranged in the upper part of the core in the reactor vessel 12 are provided. With the nuclear energy discharged out of the core 14, the primary cooling water is heated and boiled. With the generated steam, secondary cooling water passing through the steam generator 12 is heated to generate steam.
