PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a crime preventing effect in an auxiliary lock for sliding door constituted so as to be fixed to a sliding door by operating an operating body in one direction to separate a movable part from a fixed-side locking piece, and release the fixation by operating the operating body in the other direction to approach the movable part to the fixed part. SOLUTION: This auxiliary lock for sliding door comprises a lock means 7 for locking the operating body 6 so as to be non-operable in both the one and other directions, and the operating body 6 is operable in both the direction by releasing the lock by the locking means 7.
