FIELD: electron-tube engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: product of processing of out-of-operation luminescence lamps, namely mercury-containing luminophor, is mixed with 10% aqueous solution of calcium polysulfide used as demercurizing agent in amount at least 400 mL solution per 100 g dry luminophor to convert the latter into naturally occurring mercury sulfide form. At least 20 min later, powdered calcium oxide stabilizer is added to mercury sulfide at a rate of at least 50 g per 1000 g luminophor to convert mercury sulfide into inert polycrystalline state belonging to waste group 4-5 allowed to common disposal on corresponding grounds. ^ EFFECT: achieved environmental safety of mercury-containing waste processing. ^ 2 cl
