<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering device capable of shortening the axial dimensions of a steering portion, and having vehicle mounting performance. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicular steering device comprises a clutch 6 mechanically disengaging a steering portion A having a steering wheel 1 and a reaction force actuator 3, and a steering portion B steering steering wheels 22, 22; and a back-up means (a cable type column 10) provided between the clutch 6 and the steering portion B, and transmitting steering torque inputted by the steering wheel 1 at the time of clutch engagement to the steering wheels 22, 22.
