PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a vertically placed state by making an image reader which is made hard to tumble by providing a pair of projecting part in the front and rear, accepting/supporting an image reader vertically between the pair of projecting parts and regulating collapse in a horizontal direction by the pair of projecting parts. SOLUTION: A flat scanner 1 is used at a vertical state by using this stand member 2. The stand member 2 is composed of two chevron-shape rear projecting parts, support parts 2a, 2b, etc., as the projecting parts at the front side. In this case, when a main body 3 of the scanner 1 is attached to the stand member 2, the lower right end part of the main body 3 is inserted and supported between a front end support part 2b and a rear end support part 2a since the front surface of the rear end support part 2a is inclined backward. An original platen glass 1d is held at the state being slightly inclined backward and a centroid G of the main body 3 is held at sufficiently near to the position of the rear and supporting part 2a between the part 26 and the part 2a. The scanner 1 is supported by, so called, three points as front and rear width of the stand member 2 and a lower end part 3. |
