<p>This invention discloses a multi-cage lift in pair which is suitable for transferring large number of passengers floor to floor. The present invention provides a lift with better tranportation efficiency, economy, safety and convenience than existing escalator. The invention comprises a pair of multi-cage lifts (10, 10') to have passengers simultaneously get in and out multiple cages, a driving system (20) to move the one of the pair of multi-cage lifts up while the other down and a transferring door (13) through which passengers change lift from a cage (11) to the other cage (11'). Passengers can easily move on to the floor they want to go by changing lifts which continuously move alternating directions of up and down. Transportation efficiency is improved in that many passengers go on or off board simultaneously at a multiple number of floors and the lifts vertically travel as fast as an elevator. In its construction, the invention is more economic than escalators in that the lifts according to the present invention can be installed in the smaller area and require less operation and maintenance costs than escalators. In particular, this invention has advantage in safety and convenience.</p> |
