PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station device and an antenna pattern control method wherein the antenna pattern capable of effectively reducing other cell interference is automatically set up and can be updated automatically according to the change of state of a service area. SOLUTION: The base station device sets up an antenna pattern automatically so as to use radio resources effectively by reducing the interference between the frequency assigned to its own cell and the frequency assigned to an adjoining cell. The device comprises: a radio resource use situation judgement means for judging the use situation of radio resources in its own base station device, based on statistics values of the use amount of radio resources observed in its own station device; an antenna pattern control means which specifies an antenna pattern based on the use situation of radio resources judged by the radio resource use situation judging means; and an antenna for emitting electric wave by the antenna pattern specified by the antenna pattern control means.
